Are you looking to have your cherished furbaby groomed at a more than very reasonable price?
The Dog Grooming Skills Academy is the one and only dog grooming school licensed by the Commission of Post Secondary Education of Nevada.
Appointments are set according to the curriculum being followed during the course session.
Appointments are set for Mondays thru Thursdays at 5:00 p.m.
The Academy offers a reduced price for clients who would like to have your dog groomed by an apprentice groomer, always monitored by a master groomer instructor.
We need a variety of dogs-all breeds- short hair, long hair, curly hair, big, small. Every type and size of dogs are welcome to come for a visit. The fees will range from $10 to the highest cost of $50.
The Academy reserves the right to refuse service to dogs that are deemed too aggressive towards dogs and/or humans, too unhealthy or any other reason the professional expert groomer determines to be the case.
This is the simple way to set up your appointment:
- Complete the Dog Grooming form below.
- You will receive a telephone or text message within 48 hours to discuss the date, time and essentials for the upcoming appointment.
- When you show up for the appointment, the professional groomer will set the price for the groom. The cost is determined by the size, weight, condition of the coat, time needed to bathe, dry, brush, clip nails and clip and scissor the coat.
No Dog Grooming Client will be charged more than $50.00 for Dog Grooming.

Laura has been professionally grooming dogs for the past
fourteen years She previously owned her own shop in
Ohio, before moving to Nevada. She has earned her AKC
Grooming Certificate and loves to make the dogs feel
special and pampered. She is proficient in grooming all
dog breeds but especially loves working with creative hair
color dying
Terrie Reed
Instructor
Terrie has lived most of her life in Northern California but
also lived in Montana before settling in Las Vegas,
Nevada. Terrie has been professionally grooming dogs for
about twenty-five years and loves her career as a dog
groomer. She expresses her love of her career everyday
as she smiles, pampers and communicates with her dog
clients.
Sheena Galang
Administrative Assistant and Professional Groomer
Sheena grew up in Oahu, Hawaii and moved to
Henderson, Nevada about twenty one years ago. She has
always loved animals and decided to work as a bather at a
local pet salon about ten years ago. She was fortunate to
be mentored by a pet stylist to become a professional
groomer. She has been grooming dogs for about six
years. She is ambitious and works diligently to improve
her skills everyday. She is a key employee who works
directly with our students paying close attention to their
individual needs
Nina Malone
Director
Throughout her life Nina has always had multiple family
dogs. She has been a home breeder for WireHair Fox
Terriers and French bulldogs. After her retirement from a
career as an administrator for the Los Angeles Community
College District, she transitioned her great love for pets to
a new career in the dog grooming industry. Her many
years working for the California community college system
has given her the ability to dovetail her strong
management background with her great love for dogs as
the Director of DGSA.
Tiara Stewart
Instructor
Tiara has lived in Henderson, Nevada most of her life. She has been professionally grooming dogs for the past
fourteen years at the Tails A Waggin Pet Salon and is the
manager of the salon. She has studied with various show
groomers in the past and has gained an excellent
reputation with the community.
